A note from Steve and Ellen Seskin:
Hey everyone! We really love reading your posts on this page, but lately my schedule hasn't allowed me to respond to all the messages here, even though I DO read them all. :) Your questions and comments are important to me and I want to make sure that you don't feel forgotten.
From now on, Ellen will be helping me keep up with these posts. She'll answer whatever you want to know, and if there's something she can't answer, she'll find out from me. If you want a personal reply, please leave your email address. Otherwise, replies will appear on this page.
I truly appreciate all the support, either communicated to me or not, that I have gotten from you through all these years. Without you, my music would not be the same!

Steve is realizing that he is so busy that he is not responding to people who leave messages here, even though he reads them all. To make sure that you don't feel forgotten, I will answer whatever you want to know, and if there's something I can't answer, I'll find out from Steve. Steve asked me to make sure you know that he appreciates all the support, either communicated to him or not, that he has gotten from you through all these years. i just got back from your "melodies" class for NSAI's songposium... and i'm confident in saying that of the many classes i've taken about songwriting since I've moved from Chicago 6 months ago, yours has been the most helpful for me, hands down. I am always skeptical what a 90-minute class can actually teach me (once I'm actually going to write a song), but I know you nailed it with your 4 points. And I will take those out from now on, each time I write one. Thank you SO much, Steve. It was a pleasure.

Steve! We were thrilled to discover your website today, because your song "Everybody Wins" has touched hundreds of folks in our open adoption agency over the years. It is the opening 'introit' we play at every adoptive parent orientation weekend we've held every other month for over a decade and your words and melody are etched in the hearts of every family we create. Thank you for sharing your extraordinary talent with children and parents everywhere. We are forever in your debt!

Dear Steve,
I really enjoyed writing " Day Dreams " with you . I noticed that it's not on your list of school songs and neither is " If I had a million dollars". I just wanted to say I love " Don't laugh at me" because I sing it in my head whenever someone is luaghing at me because I'm short.I love your songs.
Sincerely,
nicole L. from Madison Elementary

I first heard you in 1976 playing in the Bay Area. Still to this day I remember you singing "Shady Lady", seeing you play with Stevie Gurr, Robin and others in I think Cupertino. My daughter is now 27 and she has always had Steve Seskin music in her life. I thank you for that.

Hi Steve! I recieved Sing My Song book and cd along with your brand spanking new dvd, Live at Front Porch House Concerts last saturday. I just wanted to thank you again for sending it out right away. The Kid's guide to songwriting book is an early birthday present for my son, who is due may 15th 2009! Keep writing, teaching, and performing great music! Take care.

Those of you who have attended house concerts at our house probably
remember seeing my sister, Anita. She was usually a little pale and
pretty tired - she had Hepatitis C and it had affected her liver
quite a bit by the time it was discovered. She had been a heroin
addict for most of her adult life, and quit using to show her (now
adult) son that college wasn't hard - she graduated the same year he
did.
When we realized just how sick she was, Steve (I think he's really an
angel, not a mortal) insisted that she move in with us so we could
take care of her. Our hope was that she would get better and be able
to live a lot longer - but after living with us for 6 years, her body
finally gave up. When we cleaned her room out, we found a small
cactus in a 2" pot - she had stuck two eyes on it so it looked like a
little head. I didn't have the heart to throw it away, so I stuck it
in our window box in the back of the orchids, watering it only
occasionally. I had to keep it, because I kept thinking of Steve's
song, Cactus in a Coffee Can. I figured it wouldn't last long - I
have a green thumb, but not for cactus - but, in spite of its cramped
quarters, the darn thing kept growing! The pot kept tipping over, so
I stuck it, pot and all, into a slightly larger plastic pot to try to
keep it upright.
Anyway, I just went to water the orchids, and to my surprise, the
cactus is blooming. And it's spring. Anita, I love you!
You can see a photo of the cactus in Steve's photo gallery.

I'm raving about you to all my co-workers here at NCCI in Boca Raton,Florida. I've told my boss that the best 15 months I ever spent was at the Gourd in the 70's. It's a hoot that you're still writing and making great music after all these years. I'd love to see you in person again before my last roundup. I'll be in CA in mid May, if you're performing in the bay area I'd love to come and see you. In the meantime take care, Dan.
