Don't Laugh at Me inspires Canadian students

"With voices raised in sweet harmony, the Grade 2/3 classes at Forest Ridge Academy are trying to get their message across.

“Don't laugh at me, don't call me names, don't get your pleasure from my pain, in God's eyes we’re all the same. Someday we'll all have perfect wings, don't laugh at me,” they sing.

The students, along with teacher Jennifer Smith’s assistance, have produced a video to teach the anti-bullying message..."

Making more music with school kids...

Steve continues to be a creative, inspiring presence in classrooms, helping school kids to learn about songwriting and having fun doing it!

From the Lodi News-Sentinel:

"Bay Area singer-songwriter Steve Seskin worked with two sets of Marengo Ranch Elementary students Friday to write songs for an upcoming album.

Principal Terry Metzger said the songs about eight great character traits — caring, honesty, responsibility, integrity, respect, citizenship, planning and problem solving — will be used for a children's CD..."

"A Chance to Shine" Shines

A Chance to Shine, Steve's first book, co-written with Allen Shamblin has been selected as a companion book for One Book, One Philadelphia. The Goal of One Book, One Philadelphia is to promote reading, literacy, library use, and community building by motivating tens of thousands of people to read an annual featured selection.

Steve is honored to have his book chosen and excited that A Chance to Shine will play a role in such a wonderful project. Marking the seventh consecutive year for One Book, One Philadelphia, the 2009 program runs from January 14 to March 19, 2009.
