I just got back home from a whirlwind trip that took me to TX, NJ, NY and Portland, OR. I like being busy - but 16 days straight proved to be a bit of a challenge even for me. From March 5th till yesterday I wrote 12 songs at schools, conducted 2 songwriting workshops for adults, critiqued over 30 songs by other writers, played 5 concerts including two benefits with Peter Yarrow for a low-cost housing consortium and John Garamendi who is running for Governor of CA. I wouldn't trade my life for anything.
I'm so happy to be using the gifts I've been given and although I get a little tired of the traveling, I never tire of the work. If you'd like to hear the latest songs I've written with kids, click on School Songs. There is one called Yes We Can that the school is going to send to Barack Obama with letters from the students I wrote it with. Maybe he'll take time from HIS busy schedule to give it a listen. I'm off to Australia on April 1st for two weeks. More from there....
Whirlwind trip ...and a song for Barack Obama
